did insist that the Said Several places are within his Maties
Royalty of the Tower of London, And that by Some Charter or
patent they take themselves to have a particular Jurisdiccon
exclusive from the Said County of Middx and therefore look upon
themselves to be totally exempted from paying any Rate or
Assessment made upon them towards defraying the charge of
passing Vagrants within the Said County of Middx, And that
a Charter was thereupon produced and read before the Said
Justices to Such purpose or effect, And the said Justices further
reported that they are informed the City of London have
acquiesced therein and have declined to intromitt or intermeddle
within the Said Royalty notwithstanding great part of the
ground in the Said Royalty was heretofore claymed as within
their Jurisdiccon, which they conceived might render it dificult
to make a Rate in these places, And they farther Reported that
they cannot find that Such Summs of money have been paid
for the like purposes, but as they are informed the Same has
been frequently returned as deficiency to the Sessions at Hicks
hall, And they alsoe Reported that Some of the Inhabitants in
the Said Royalty did acquaint them that about twenty five
years Since a distress was made by the Officers of the County for
money Said to be charged for these or Such like purposes, And
that the Said Inhabitants did give Security to answer for the
goods Soe taken in distress, and then applyed imediately to her
late Matie Queen Ann in Council, who gave Such directions
that the Said Inhabitants found an endtoand full Stop put to
the proceedings aforesaid, neither did they heare of any like
precepts from the Justices of the County in any case whatsoever
for many years after, but that they remained in quiet and
uninterrupted possession of their libertys as they had done for
many years before, the Said distress had been made, And the
confideracon of the Said Report being by Order of Court
adjorned untill this present General Quarter Sessions of the peace
held by adjornment for the County of Middx on this fourteenth
day of January instant, Now upon debate of the matters
aforesaid, It is Ordered by this Court that it be And It is hereby
