Order touching the
Viewing of and
repaireing of Brentford
Bridge }

Informacon being given unto this Court that a publick
Bridge called Brentford Bridge inthethis County (which
hath been usually and ought to be repaired at the charges
of the Inhabitants of this County) is yet very much out of
repaire tho' Several Orders have been formerly made
relating to the repairing of the Said Bridge, And that it is
Necessary that the Same Should be forthwith repaired,
It is Ordered by this Court that it be And It is hereby [..]
recomended & referred unto James Clitherow< no role > Esqr . Sr . John
Gonson Knt . Sr . William Ogborne< no role > Knt. Henry Barker< no role > Henry
Vincent Thomas< no role > West Charles Lockyer Thomas Milner< no role > John
VernerTarver< no role > Richard Bulstrode< no role > Richard Lilly< no role >
John Mercer< no role > James Harrison< no role > Richard Gifford< no role > and William
Ellis
< no role > Esqrs . Justices of the peace for this County or any three
or more of them as a Committee to assemble and meet
together, And to take to their Assistance Such able Workman
or workmen as they Shall think fitt, and to take a View of
the Said Bridge, and to see if the same is out of repaire, and
if any and what repairs are wanting and necessary to be
done thereto, And if it Shall appeare upon Such view that
the Said Bridge is out of repaire [..] Then to inquire and
make an estimate of what it will cost to repaire the Same
in a Substantiall & workmanlike manner And to receive the
proposalls and estimates of workmen in relaton thereunto
And the said Committee of Justices are hereby Authorized &
empowered to employ such able workman or workmen as
they shall think proper effectually to repaire the said Bridge
in a Substantiall & workman like manner and upon Such
termes and for Such Sume of money as the Said Committee
Shall think reasonable, And the Said Committee of Justices
are hereby desired to report an Account of their proceedings
touching the premisses unto the Court of General Quarter
or General Sessions of the peace for this County to the end
that such further Order may be made in relation to the
premisses as occasion may require,
