for the payment of the Said Sume of Seventy eight pounds
eight shillings & three pence remaining due to the peticoner
and to Settle ascertain direct & allow the consideracon to be
made to the Said John Mist< no role > for his doeing the Same, Soe as
not to Subject the Justices of the peace of this County and
the City & Liberty of Westminster to make good the said
debt or any part thereof or any deficiencys of the Toll
money of the said Hay-Market otherwise than out of
the moneys ariseing by the toll for hay & Straw brought
or to be brought into & Standing to be Sold in the Said
Hay-market ,

Order appointing a
Comittee to take a
view of, & fortify
New prison Etc}

Upon Informacon given unto this Court by William
Cotesworth Esqr . one of his Maties Justices of the peace for this
County that several prisoners comitted to his Maties Goal
of New prison at Clerkenwell in the said County for crimes
& misdemeanors have since Easter Sessions last by reason of
the weakness of the Said Goal made their escape out of the
same, And that it is necessary that the said Goal should be
fortifyed, This Court being of opinion that the same should
be strengthened & fortifyed for the more safe custody of
prisoners comitted or to be comitted thither for the crimes
charged against them Doth order that it be And It is
hereby recomended & referred unto William Cotesworth< no role >
Thomas Pindar< no role > William Brooke< no role > Simon Michell< no role > Robert
Tothill William Hayton & Thomas Robe< no role > Esqrs . Justices of
the peace for this County residing within the limits of
the parish of St. James Clerkenwell in the Said County or
any three or more of them as a Committee to meet
together, And to take a view of New prison aforesaid, and
to take to their assistance such able workman or Workmen
as they shall think fit, And to see if the said prison is [..]
weak in any part or parts of the same, and not of
Sufficient Strength for the safe custody of the prisoners
therein, and if it shall appeare soe to be Then to cause the
Said Prison to be effectually repaired & Strengthened in
Such weak parts of the Same Soe as the escape of Prisoners
comitted or to be comitted thither may be thereby
hindred & prevented, and to employ Such Workman or
workmen as they shall think proper to doe the same, And
to make their Report in writing touching the premisses
unto the Court of the next General Quarter Sessions of the
peace for this County,
