much Decayed by the Rottenness of the piles, which Did
support the said Bridge, that a Great part thereof is Broken down
and wholly Impossible by Carriages Etc, and an Immediate
Repair or Rebuilding is absolutely necessary, which said Repairs
or Rebuilding will want the Materialls and Workmanship, the
perticulars whereof are hereunto annexed; and in Our Opinions
the Workmen who are to perform the same will Deserve the
Sum of Six hundred and Fifty pounds or thereabouts and the said
Workmen Do desire that what Sum or Sums they shall Contract for
they Giving Sufficient Security, be advanced to them as followeth
vizt. One third part of the whole Sum Contracted for, to be
advanced to them at the Execution of the Articles, for Carrying
on the said work, one third part more thereof, when the said
Bridge shall be wholly plankt, and the other third part Residue
and Remainder thereof, when the said Work shall be fully
compleated and Finished to the Satisfaction of such Gentlemen
as the Court shall appoint to Survey the same, All which Wee
Submit to the Determination and Order of this honble Court.

At a Survey taken of that part of Chertsea Bridge
belonging to the County of Middx, to make a compleat Repair
will be wanting the Scantlings and Materialls hereafter
mentioned vizt.
