maketh Oath and Saith that he was by Summons
left at his house in Leadenhall Street
aforesaid required to
attend this Honorable Court to serve as a Juryman at the Session
holden in the Month of January last which this Deponent
intended to do but that theaday [..] Preceeding the said
Session this Deponent was obliged to attend at the Session
of the Peace holden at Chelmsford
in the County of Essex
upon Business of the utmost consequence to this Deponent
and which if he this Deponent had not attended to he
would thereby have sustained a loss of between Forty
and Fifty Pounds And this Deponent further saith that
he did not return to London from Chelmsford
aforesaid until
after the Session for the City of London
had commenced when
this Deponent apprehended he was too late to attend this
Honourable Court

Old Bailey
in the Suburbs of the City
London the 25th. day of October 1787
