Informations of Witnesses taken at the
parish of Saint Bartholomew the less in the Ward
of Lamingdon without in London the 12th. day of
June 1787 on view of the body of William Cuitt< no role >
then lying dead.

Richard Simmons< no role > of the Rope Walk Goswell Street a private
in the first Regiment of foot Guards maketh oath that
about a quarter past 11 at night of Saturday seven night last Dept
on hearing the cry of Murder went into the Sign of the Falstaff Alehouse
in Old Street in the parish of Saint Luke Middlesex & in the Tap
Room found the deced and James Weston< no role > the Landlord quarelling; that
the Landlord sayed he could leather the deced, & the deced replied he
could not, on which the Landlord layed hold of the deced & threw him
down; that the deced got up, & the Landlord immedy. laid hold of him
and threw him down again, & the deced while he was down sayed his
leg was broken, and the landlord directly ran to him, seized him by the
hair of his head, and struck him with his right fist several times on
the head; that Dept took the Landlord from the deced, and Landlord
and another man named Edward Boulton< no role > turned Dept out of the house; that
Dept returned into the house in about two minutes afterwards when
one Henry Collet< no role > who was present asked the Landlord for something to
carry the deced to the Hospital on, who refused, saying "what after he
has broken my head Innest give him a plaister , no I will see him
damned first". That a shutter was procured from a neighbouring
house on which the deced was carried to the Hospital.

husband to come home to Supper, he sayed he would in a minute, and
then asked a Mr. Parker to charge some light Gold which Dept had
received of him, on which James Weston< no role > interpred and sayed the deced
was
