The Humble Petition and Appeal of the Chruch-
Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint
Matthew Bethnal Green
in the County of Middlesex
Sheweth
That by a Warrant or Order of Removal bearing date the
11th. Day of February Instant under the Hands and Seals of William
Pickett and
John Wilkes< no role >
Esqr
. two of his Majesty's Justices of the peace
for the said City of London
and Liberties thereof (one being of the
Quorum)
Margaret Montress< no role >
Singlewoman
and her three
illegitimate Children, William aged Seven Years and Upwards Robert
aged Four Years and upwards and Ann aged Seven Months and Upwards
were Removed and Conveyed from and out of Parish of Saint Giles
witout Cripplegate
London to the said Parish of Saint Matthew
Bethnal Green
as the place of their Last Legal Settlement.
Your Petitioners Apprehending themselves
aggrieved by the said Warrant or Order of Removal of the said Two
Justices Humbly Appeal to this Court against the same and
pray that your Worships will be Pleased (as your Petitioners
did on the 16th. Day of February Instant give Notice unto the
Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of
Saint Giles without Cripplegate
purporting their
Intention of this Appeal) to proceed upon this their
Appeal and give such Relief in the premises as to
Your Worships shall seem Meet
And Your Petitioners shall ever Pray Etc
