Whereas on the 18th. day of March last a certain Barge
belonging to Thomas Robinson< no role >
of Marlow in the County of Bucks ran against
Black Friars Bridge and was thereby Sunk in the River Thomas within the City of
London by means whereof 82 Couples of paper called pound and half pound
154 bundles of paper called Small hand 143 bundles of paper called Middle
hand and 20 bundles of paper called Crown Tipice the property of one John Scott< no role >
of Chipping Wycomb
in the County aforesaid paper maker and then on board the sd. Barge to be
transported from Chipping Wycomb
afsd. to the sd. City of London
was totally damaged
I do therefore hereby give you Notice that I intend to make application to his
Majesty's Justices at the next General Qr. Session of the peace who holder for the sd.
City of London
by adjournment at the Guildhall
within the sd City on Monday the 2nd. day
of June next at ten of the Clock in the morning to determine and settle the quantityallowance the said property
of damage done to the said paper and on allowance (of the Duties there paid [..]
to his Mjty) to be repaid and allowed are in respect thereof And to give in a
Certificate of under their Hands & Seals of the sum allowed purst to the statute in
such case made & provided Dated this 24th day of May 1783
