The Information of William William< no role > Wenman
of Narrow Street Limehouse , in the County of
Middlesex , who ledges at Mrs Briggs a Chandler Shop
Keeper in the said Street Who being on Oath saith,
that on Sunday Night last about Eleven O'Clock,
he was in conversation with a Woman at the
bottom of Holborn Hill , when he felt a Person's
taken in his left hand side Pocket-Informant turned
immediately, and saw the Prisoner now under
Examination John Tate< no role > standing close by him
Informant asked the Prisoner what business his
hand had in his Pocket, told the Prisoner he had
taken Informants pocket book out of his Pocket
Informant is satisfied, that at the time he was in
conversation with the Woman, he had a black-
Leather Pocket Book, of the value of six Pence
in his left hand side Pocket-the Prisoner on
being challenged with taking the pocket book,
denied any knowledge of it the Prisoner struck
Informant on the left Eye and made off with
great Speed Informant went immediately over
to Saint Andrew's Watch house , and described the
Prisoner , to the Watch he Men who said they
knew who the Person was, that was charged by
Informant with stealing his pocket Book
the Prisoner was afterwards apprehended and
Informant verily believes he was the Person
who Feloniously took his Pocket Book out of
his Pocket, during the time he was conversing
with the Woman as is before mentioned.
