William Allen< no role > of the Parish of Saint George
Southwark in the County of Surry Timber Merchant
Maketh Oath and Saith, that on Friday the sixth
Wednesday the Eleventh, and Friday the thirteenth,
days of this Instant October, he this Deponent went
to the New Corn Markett in Mark Lane within the City
of London in Order to buy some Oats-and accordingly
on the same days he this Deponent bought a Quantity
of middling British Oats in the said Markett, and
gave for such Oats after the Rate of sixteen Shillings
and six pence the Quarter And this Deponent
further saith, that on all the several and respective
Days before mentioned, the Common Markett
price of middling British Oats sold in the said
Markett was sixteen shillings and six pence the
Quarter And further saith, that he hath been
Informed and verily believes the same to be true,
that for several Weeks last past, the Common
Market price of middling British Oats sold in
the said Market hath exceeded the sum of
sixteen shillings the Quarter And this Deponent
further Saith that he is possessed of a Leasehold
Estate of the Clear Yearly Value of Fifty Pounds
and upwards over and above all Charges and
reprizes and that he is skilful in the prices of
Oats and other Corn-and that he is a Housekeeper
and lives in the County of Surry-and that he
is not a Corn-Chandler , Mealman , Factor or a
Merchant concerned in the Importation of Corn
or any way interested in any Oats to be imported
