Elizabeth Wife< no role > of William Gibbs< no role > of West Smithfield London
Ironmonger Thomas< no role > Smith of Saint John Street Carman
and John Bush< no role > of Hosier Lane London Constable make
Oath and say that Francis Roebotham< no role > was bound by
recognizance for the appearance of the said Elizabeth Gibbs< no role >
to prosecute one Mary Blackbird at the Session of the
peace held for the City of London in June last for
stealing a linnen Gown value Ten shillings the
property of the said William Gibbs< no role >
and that these Deponents Thomas Smith< no role > and John
Bush were also bound in the said recognizance to
give Evidence against the said Mary Blackbird< no role >
And this Deponent Elizabeth Gibbs< no role > Saith that
soon after she was informed by she said John Buck< no role >
the Constable that the said Mary Blackbird had
escaped during the late riots from Wood street Compter
and therefore that she need not be at the Double
and expence of Indicting her until she was
retaken which is the only reason why this
deponent did not prefer an Indictment against
her-
And this Deponent John Bersh< no role > Saith that the said
Mary Blackbird during the riots escaped from Wood
Street Compter and that he did give the said Elizabeth
Gibbs the advise above mentioned thinking the same
right and from no other motive And this Deponent
Thomas Smith< no role > Saith that he was ready and
