Maketh Oath and sayth. That he
this Deponent searing Entred in to recognizance to prosecute
one Mary Tull< no role >
(this present July Sessions 1778) for
robbing him of 5th or thereabouts, at his House in sd.
Johns Court which Lane and parish aforesaid. on or about
the 4th. of July Instant and this Deponent further
sayth that a Bill being found before the Grand and Jury
against the said Mary Tull< no role >
, that his Deponent did
Constantly attend from beginning of this present Sessions
and was in the Sessions house Yard. Untill abert noon
on Saturday the 18th: Instant when seeing no prisoners
on the London side in the paper of Indicments was by
several people assured he might go safely home to Dinner.
And this Deponent upon his Oath further sayeth
that he only went Home to Dinner and on his returning was
informed that the Prisoner Mary Tull had been assigned
and was Discharged, which gave this Deponent much
Concerning being totally unacquainted; with the matter and
consequence of such wrighting matters. having never before
had any Prosecution of the [..]
and this Deponent further upon his Oath
sayeth that he is upwards of seventy years old; A poor
man and has 2 Grand Children which he Maintains
and as the greatest part of the Money last win the hand
of Wm. Styles Jones < no role >
