Patrick Purcell< no role > of Bennett Court Drury Lane in
the County of Middlesex & Victualler maketh Oath that
he this Deponent & one John Naylor< no role > did become Bail
for the Appearance of the abovenamed Defendant
James Riley in January Session last to plead to an
Indictment preferred against him for an Assault
and this Deponent Saith that at the Time when the
said Defendant should have appeared he was so
Ill that he could not go out without Imminent
Danger of his Wife which Illness continued untill
his Death which happened Soon after

Sworn at Justice Hall in
the old Bailey the 18th. day
of October 1776 }
