The Information of John Shipman< no role > of the parish of SaintGeorge
Olive Southwark in the County of Surry Hat Maker taken upon Oath
this 21st: day of July 1774 .

This Informant upon his Oath saith that on Thursday the fourteenth
day of JulylastInstant he this Deponent in returning from the City of
London to the Borough of Southwark upon London Bridge near the Water
Works on the City Side his pockett Book containing two Bank Notes
of ten pounds Each and two [..] Drafts accepted for the payment
of ten pounds Each feloniously was taken and pickd out of his pocket
And that he does suspect and believe that the prisoner James Loyal< no role >
did commit the said Felony For that a person then and new unknown
to this Deponent in looking through the Bulshede was [..] making some
remarks of a Beat which he thought would overset Whereupon this
Deponent alsothoughlooked through the Bulshedes when the prisoner James Loyal placed himself
close by his Side and immediately jumpd round this Deponent pointing
as he said to a person catching Fish at which Time his Book was stolen
And that no other person was to his knowledge and Belief then and
there near enough to him to pick his pocket Except the said James Loyal
