taken before me this 20th. day of
May 1772
Who being upon Oath says he is a Linen Draper
in Cheapside
that
he has many Times employed John Gross< no role >
and Thomas Bedwell< no role >
now present
to print Linens and Cottons for him, that about two Months ago
the said John Gross< no role >
and Thomas Bedwell< no role >
shewed him some Patterns to
have Linens and Cottons printed by that he did accordingly send
to them a Quantity of Cottonsto themto be printed that he has
since found part of the said Goods on board the John Galley
bound
for Boston
in New England
Unmanufactured and not at all begun
to be printed, that he has been credibly informed and verily believes
that the said John Gross< no role >
and Thomas Bedwell< no role >
caused the said Goods
to be put on Board the said Vessel and that they intended to quit
England
and to go to Boston in New England and take this
Informant's said Goods with them
