On an Indictment for Perjury

Robert Burbage< no role > of Twyford in the County of Leicester one of the
prosecutors on this Indictment maketh Oath and Saith that one Mr George
Stewart
< no role > [..] is a material Evidence for the King in this Cause And without whose Testimony this Deponent cannot safely proceed to the trial of this Indictment as this [..]
Deponent in informed and verily believes cannot attend the trial of this Indictment this present Session held at Justice Hall
in the old Bailey the said George Stewart< no role > having by Letter informed an
Acquaintance of his that he cannot be in Town untill Monday or Tuesday
next And this Deponent further Saith that he hath caused a Spna in this
Cause to be made out for the said George Stewart< no role > to give evidence on the
Tryal of this Indictment and hath used his utmost endeavours to get him
Served there with and hath called at his Lodgings in Westminster twice a
Day for two days last past and also on this Day and enquired at each time [..]
of the said George Stewarts< no role > Wife if he was at home or where he might be
met with who informed this Deponent that [..] the went out on Monday
Morning last past at seven o Clock in the morning and that he then [..] sayed he was going into the County but did not
say where and [..] Deponent believes to be true and the also then [..] and that She had not Seen or heard from him Since And this
Deponent further Saith that he verily believes he shall not be able
to get the said George Stewart< no role > to attend the Tryal of this Indictment at this
present Session but that he shall be able to get him against the next
ensuing SessionAnd lastly this Deponent saith that [..]

it will not be [..] for him the Deponent to proceed to [..]
