1756 at the parish of Saint Sepulchre London on
View of the Body of Sarah Wheeler< no role > there lying
dead, upon an Inquisition taken before Thomas
Beach
< no role > Esqr his Majesty's Coroner for the City of
London:

Peter Panchen< no role > of Cross Key Court Shoemaker
maketh Oath that Jane Price< no role > lately Date did
on Tuesday the2d.3d. inst. came into Depts
Lodging Room, telling him that a Woman was
dead in her house, to which Dept. answered she
would be put to expence, Dept. meaning in respect
to burying her: Says that about Noon as Dept. was
going from his Lodging to a Publick House the said
Jane Price< no role > called to him & desired that Dept. wod.
assist in puting the dead person into a Coffin,
which Dept. consented to and did assist in so doing.
Says he saw several black [..] broad
Marks, particularly about her bright Ann and her Neck & Shoulders
andthat both her Breasts seemed to be much swelled,
and her Belly sumed likewise to be swelled
particularly abouttheher Groin. Says that
onFridayThursday last the sd. Jane Price< no role > came to the
Window of his Lodgings, saying [..]
herLad atLad [..] um (meaning a man
who broughtwith whom she came there
on the Monday Evening and with whom & he
cohabited with at her House that night) and sayd
She would have the deced, who was then burred
taken up again. Says he believes that the
marks he saw about her as above more Marks of
Violened.
