Oath that [..] he took the said Mary Alsop< no role >
upon suspicion of her having much deced the
decedinto Custodyand as [..] he saw as conveying
of her to the Woodstreet Compter

passing by asked what was the matter and
for what the said Mary alsop was to be carried
to Goal for, who made Answer, to the
Persons in the Streets only for killing of
her Husband. Says as he was carrying her
to the Compter he perceived he Apron to be very
Bloody, & on Enquiring hav it came, she told
Dept. that her Husband struck her at Crowson's
(meaning a Publick House now kept by Mr-
Combs) to which Dept. make answer that if
her Husband had struck her she would have been
bloody about the Head or Neck before her Apron
would have been bloody, but Dept. saw no Blood
about her Head or Neck, though she pretended
that he had made her Nose bleed Say she went
into the Room where the deceased was about 12 o'Clock
at night where he found a Shoemaker's Knife upon
a Sent the deced used to work on of a smaller size then
[..] Knife before mentioned upon one [..] which there was a small
Quantity of Bloodcomingand on the other side a small
Quantity of Ga [..] matter like Gresen [..]
dozen it.
