Whereas the Churchwardens & Overseers of the poore of the parish of St. Anderw Holborn London have made Complaint unto us Sr . Thomas Abney< no role > Knight
Lord Major of the Can of London Sr . Thomas Lane< no role > Kinght & Aldr an of the said City two of His Majesties Justices of the peace for the said City & Libties
(whereof I the said Lord Major an of the Quox) & both of us dwelling near the Limitts of the said Parish That Sarah Perrey< no role > Single woman was on the First day
of December last pst delivered of a Female Bastard Child in the said parish whereof. the chargeth one William White< no role > to be the reputed Father And that the
sad Bastard Child for the space of Nine weeks next before the date hereof became chargeable to the sd. parish & still remaineth upon their charge & delivering
Releife therein Now wee the sd. Justices (according to the forme of the Statute in that case ,ade & provided) haveing Exaied upon oath Mary Lawrence< no role >
of the parish of St. Sepulchers London Widdow & Theodosia Wilmot< no role > of the sd. parish of St. Andrew Holboure London (whereby it was duly proved before
us That the said Sarah Perrey< no role > did at the time of the Birth of the said Child in the yr. sence of them the said Mary Lawrence< no role > & Theodosia Wilmott< no role >
soleming declare & affirme That the said William White< no role > die beget on her body the said Baster Child & upon other convincing Circumstances us
here unto moveing Do hereby adjudge & declare, the Said William White< no role > to be the reputed Father of the said Female Bastard Child borne of the
body of the said Sarah Perrey as aforesd. And there upon Wee doe Order as well for Releife & to save harmeless & indecunify the sd. parish as
for the maintaince a keeping of the said Female Bastard Child That the said William White< no role > shall forthwith upon Sight of this our Order
(at Copy thereof Copy there of being delivered unto him) pay or cause to be paid unto the Churchwarden & Overseers of the poor of the sd. Parish For and
towards the Charges & Expences which their have already bui put to & expended in Nurseing & keeping the Sd. Bastard Child & provideing
Blanketts Lymen other Necessaries for the same the sume of three pounds Four Shillings And Wee doe further Order That the said
White Shall pay & allow to the said Churchwardens & Overseers of the poor of the said parish for the time being for & towards the charge
keeping releife & mainteinance of the said Bastard Child the Since of two Shillings weekly & every week for Soe long time as the sd.
Bastard Child. shall continue & be legall Charge & Burthen to the said parish or Inhitants thereof And lastly Wee do order That
the said William White< no role > doe forthe with give Sufficeint Security to the Churchwardens & Overseers of the poor of the said parish for
the true former noe of this our Order Given under our hands This Sixth day of February in the Twelfth Year of the Reign of our
Soveraign Lord William the Third King of England St Anno Din 1700.
