Who being upon Oath saith that on the 2nd. day of
September last a Foreigner who said his Name was
Richter came to the Shop of said Jefferies and
Jones and fold to this Informant a Quantity of
Light Guineas to the Amount of £54.. 5. 8 for which
Sum this Informant gave said Foreigner the Draft
now produced on Messrs, Biddulph Cocks< no role >
and Co. Bankers at
Charing Cross
in the Names of Jefferies and Jones
And this Informant further says that he verily
believes the Person now present who calls
himself Jacob Canter< no role >
is the person of whom to
he bought said Light Guineas and to whom he
gave said Draft And further says that the
Draft now Produced purporting to beInthe
Draft of Jefferies and Jones on said Messrs.
Biddulph Cocks< no role >
and Co for £554.0..8 is not of
the hand Writing of this Informant or of his said
Partner Thomas Jefferies< no role >
but is false forged and
Counterfeited.
