Who being upon Oath saith that he Knows a person
now present who calls himself Jacob Canter< no role >
That
he has been frequently employed by him for the purpose
of carrying Drafts and receivingdoCash from
different Bankers and on other BusinessThat
on Monday the 8th. day of September last at about nine
o Clock in the morning he was called from Coney Court in
Grays Inn
to go to the Grays Inn Coffee house
when
one of the Waiters took him to said Canter who was
sitting in the Coffee RoomThat said Canter gave this
Informant a Draft on Messrs. Prescott and Co. No. 62
Thread Needle Street
Bankers and desired him to go and
receive the Money, which he did and brought it to
said Canter at said Coffee HouseThat he does not
recollect the Namewasthe Draft was drawn in,
nor to whom it was made payableThat on the
23rd day of the same Month September he received from
the said Canter a Draft on said Prescott and Co.
for £700 with directions to go and receive the
MoneyThat on his Presenting said Draft for
payment it was Refused and he this Informant
was StoppedThat this Informant then Returned with
one of the Clerks of the said Messrs: Prescott and Co. to said
Coffee House in search of said CanterThat he was
