Footman to Mrs. Duvall of No 34
Berners Street Oxford Street taken
before One this 1st. day of Janry 1789

Who being upon Oath saith that about 2 Years
ago he Met with the prisoner now present who calls himself WIlliam
Finish
< no role > in Holborn at the Window of a print Shop, or something like
it, where some thing passed between them in a Jokeduring which
Jokethis Informant clapped one of his hands upon the flap of said
Finch's Breeches but Meant nothing therebyThat Informant
then went away and said Finch followed him (saying he was
up to that) and wanted him to go into the fields which Informant
refused to doThat said Finch continued to follow this Informant
and said that he would not leave him till he gave him some Money,
when this Informant gave him One Shilling and Six Pence and
they partedThat on the 10th. of December about Seven or eight in
the Evening said Finch rang atMrs.. Duvalls Bell< no role > when this
Informant went to the door.That said Finch said he wanted
some Money Informant asked him "what for"said Finch
said he wanted a GuineaThat this Informant asked him
why he was to give him a Guinea and asked him whether
less Money would not doThat said Finch said that less Money
would not do, and that if he did not it, he would come and
ring the Bell, acquaint the Lady, and raise the HouseThat
Informant then fetched him a Guinea and said Finch went away
That one day last Week said Finch came to Mrs Duvalls
Door and wanted another Guinea which Informant refused
to lend him That said [..] Finch offer'd to give him a Note
of Hand for both GuineasThat in about Six Weeks he should
receive some Money and then he would pay him bothAnd
this Informant further saith, that his only reason for giving
said Finch said Guinea was to prevent said Finch going
to his Mistress to Alarm her, of which, Informant was fearful
that he would
