Esquire one of his Majestys Justices of
the Peace
in and for the said County this 27th. day of May 1789 who says between
Nine and Twelve o' Clock Yesterday Morning he was going along Plow Alley
and was
Accosted by the Prisoner present (who says her name's Mary Floyde) that She took
him into the House of the other prisoner (who says her Name is
Mary Leonard< no role >
) being
No. 2 in Plow Alley
aforesaid that he and Floyde went up stairs when he gave her
Six Pence or a Shillings to sent for Some Liquor that some Liquor was brought but he
dose not know by whom that he and Floyde pulled of their Cloths and went to Bed
together where they Laid About an Hour and a Half that he had three Guineas and
a Half in Gold and some Silver in his Waistcoat pocket which he saw and had
itin
his Hand after he was in the Room and about Quarter of an hour before he pulled off
his Cloaths that when he went to Bed he laid his Waistcoat and other Cloaths on
the Ground near the Bed side that he went to sleep when he awoke he got up
Floyde Still remaining in Bed feltin his Pocket and found all his Money and the
Key of his Chest had been taken out of his pocket he called down Stairs and said
he had been Robbed when Mrs. Leonard Immediatly came up and Looked into
Floyde's Pockets for the Money that he took out of Floyde's Pocket one bad
Shilling about Eleven pence in Half pence and there Key of his Chest which she gave
to him that he asked them for his Money but they denied knowing any things about
it Says he is Positive the Money was in his pocket when he went to Bed says he
believes Mrs. Leonard knew nothing about the Robbery
buthas no Doubt but that he
was Robbed by Floyde that the Key Produced is the Key give in him by Mrs. Leonard
and is his property
