The Information of John Phillips< no role > taken this
17th January 1788

Who upon his Oath says that on the third day of December last about Eleven o Clock at Night
he met two Giles in Holborn whose names are Ann Thompson< no role > and Elizabeth Cole< no role > they
asked him to go home with them which he did that when he came into their Room which
is in Cross Lane And Thompson went for some Gin that they drank it and immediately
went to Bed that he soon after fell asleep and he believes slept for about an hour, that
when he awaked he said he would go home that he felt Ann Thompson< no role > 's hand under
his head where his Breeches with a Watch and Guinea were in the Fob, that he heard
the Watch as [..] she took it out that he started up in Bed and immediately Elizabeth
Cole
< no role > got out of Bed and ran out of the Room that he pursued her and saw as she
passed thro' the door by the Lamp in the Street the Ribbon which hung at the Watch
in her [..] nd that he then called the Watch he being naked did not pursue her further
than [..] or that the charged the Watch with Ann Thompson< no role > who was searched and
nothing [..] his property found on her that she was sent to the Watchouse and the day
following brought and Examined by Reyrert Clarke< no role > Esqr who thought proper to
discharge her, that he tried by every means in his power to find Eliz. Cole but could
not untill last Night about Seven OClock he saw her in a house in Cross Lane that
he immediately sent for a Constable who took her to the Watchouse.
