The Information of Henry Cannen< no role > , William Penny< no role > Feather, and
Richard Glover< no role > , taken before me Edward Read< no role > Esq one of his
Majestys Justices of the Peace for the County of Middlesex this Third
Day of November 1778. Who being duly Sworn Severally upon
their Oaths say.first Henry Cannon< no role > for himself saith that
he is a Carter to Mr. Sheppard Gardner in the Kings Road Chelsea
That about Three o'Clock on Tuesday Morning last the 28th Instantday of
October. as he was going to take his Masters Cart to Covent
Garden Markett ( as usual) he saw a Woman laying on the
Ground in Robinsons Lane, and with his Lanthorn he saw
she was terribly wounded about her head and face, and with
very little signs of Life. and he asked her what she did there,
but she was not able to give him any kind of answer - that he
was much alarmed, and went to one William Penny< no role > feather a
Watchman at the top of Church lane , and informed him what he
had seen and requested the said Penny feather to go with him to
her assistance - that they went and found her in the same situ
=ation he left her. That the this Informant and Penny feather
then went to call Richard Glover< no role > an other Watchman at the
bottom of Robinson's Lane. Penny feather first covering her head
with her apron to keep off the cold foggy Air from her wounds
that after they had called Glover he this Informant Cannon went
about his business-

And William Penny< no role > feather for himself saith
that he is a Watchman at the top of Church lane Chelsea , that
a little after Three o'clock on Tuesday Morning last the 28th; Day of
October - Henry Cannon< no role > came to him and told him a Person had
been Robbd and murdered and thrown into a Ditch in Robinsons
Lane, and that he could not be satisfied until he this Informant
had been with him to see - that he went and found it was
a Mulatto Woman dreadfully wounded about the Head and face-
that he preceived she was not quite dead - that he this Informant
and Cannon then went to call one Richard Glover< no role > an other
Watchman and then Cannon left them and went about his busi
=ness that he Pennyfeather and Glover went and took her
to the bottom of the Lane - then he Pennyfeather went to his
Duty.

And Richard Glover< no role > for himself saith that his a Watchm
=an at the bottom of Robinsons Lane Chelsea . That on Tuesday
Morning last the 28th,, Day of October a little before Four o'Clock
Henry Cannon< no role > and William Penny< no role > feather came to him and told
him that a Poor Woman was laying in Robinsons Lane almost
