The Information of Henry Mattocks< no role >
Deputy pay Master to John Willis< no role > Esqr .. Agent
to the Tartar Man of War for the
Villadetreist prize taken in the west
Indies of which Messrs,, Marsh and Creed in
Norfolk Street are the Agents taken before
me this 9th,, day of December 1788.

Who being upon Oath saith that on Thursday the forwith
of December instant between Twelve and One o'Clock Charles Pinchstone< no role >
Esqr. Navy Agent of Exeter Court came to the Artichoke in Clare
Street Clare Market (Where this Informant pays prize Money) and
produced to this Informant the Letter of Attorney now produced
purporting to be the Letter of Attorney of Patrick Donnaghur< no role > late
a Midshipman belonging to his Majesty's Ship Tartar to his
beloved and trusty Friend Ann Beach< no role > Tenby Street Borough
Southwark and dated 16th of July 1786 Spinster telling this
Informant that he had received the same from a Man and Woman
whom he had left at his own House but that suspecting the said
Letter of Attorney to be forged he applied to this Informant for his
Opinion thereon -- That Informant in Censequence thereof desired
the said Mr. Pinckstone to send the said Man and Woman to
him and about two or three o'Clock, this Informant discovered
that said Man was below Stairs at the Artichoke aforesaid when
he sent for him and desired him to come up when John Burn< no role >
the Prisoner now present came up and Informant told said
Burn that he must produce the Woman meaning the said
Ann Beech< no role > which said Burn Promised to do-That about 5 oClock
the said Burn returned and told this Informant that the
said Ann Beech< no role > was gone home or to her place or words to
that effect which induced this Informant to charge said Burn
with a Constable - And this Informant further saith he verily
believes the said Letter of Attorney now produced is a forgery
and doth also suspect and believe that the said John Burn< no role >
published the said Letter of Attorney in conjunction with said
Woman Knowing it to be so
