The Information of Samuel Bevan< no role > taken
on Oath the twelfth day of November 1788
before me one of his Majestys Justices of the
Peace for the County of Middlesex .

Who Saith That on Wednesday the Fifth day of November
Instant about Six O'Clock in the Evening he was going
from Bethnal Green towards Mile End read and as he was
going through a field called Globe field near the Kings
Highway he was stopped by four men who demanded
his money immediately and if he would give it they would
not hurt him, immediately one of them catched hold of
his att Hatt and attempted to Null and did of over his Eyes
but informant shewed it up a said [..] and then they began to
beat him and thenInformant called out Murder
they continued beating him until they found him weak
and then they attempted to throw him down which
they did, and when down they took out of his Pockets
Three Guineas and a half in Gold and about Ten Shilling
in Silver and a bad Six pence and some Halfpence,
and then ran away and one of them stayed behind
longer than the others or also returned and Informant received from
him another Violent blow which wounded him in
the head and then he called out Murder again
and found himself bleeding [..] very fast And [..]
[..] that Thomas Thrist< no role > one of the prisoners now
under Examination was one of the persons who Robbed him
and believes that John Merryman< no role >
was another of them and Thomas
