Oldfield, another Watchman, being at the sign of the
Yorkshire Grey, one William Freeman< no role > came into the said
Public House, called the Yorkshire Grey, and gave charge
of the deceased, on which this Examinant desired the
said William Freeman< no role > to come to the Watchhouse and
make good his Charge, William Freeman< no role > said he did
it for safety, and that the Man might be taken care of
that accordingly, this Examinant, the said William
Freeman
< no role > and James Oldfield< no role > , conveyed the deceased
to the Watchhouse, that he was carried thither, and that
the deceased muttered and swore several times in going
to the Watchhouse, that the deceased was led into the
Watchhouse, that when the deceased came into the
Watch house, some person, (but whom this Examinant
does not know) ordered the deceased to be put down
stairs, that Rees Davis< no role > lighted this Examinant down
stairs with the Deceased, that this Examinant had hold
of his Thighs, and Oldfield had hold of his head, that
he was put in a place where there were Benches, that
the deceased was so intoxicated that he could not
sit on the Benches, and therefore was laid along the
Floor, that this Examinant then left the Watchhouse
and heard nothing more of the deceased
