Who upon their Oaths severally say and first the said
William Dorrington< no role >
for himself Saith That he is
Foreman to Mr. George Jones< no role >
the Elder of Broad
Street
Bloomsbury
Hatmaker
That about the
hour of 6. oClock this Evening a Woman Came into
his Masters Shop and asked for one Mrs. Smith
a Washer woman and during the time he was answering
the Woman he heard some paper which was under
Some Hats in the Window make a kind of Noise as if
a Hat was taken from the Window and upon looking towards
the Window he Missed a Beaver Hat of the Value of
Twelve Shillings Whereupon he Called to the other
Informant to know how many Hats there were in the
Window Who said Four but there were but Three at
this time that the other Informant that went out
of the Shop in Search of the person who Stole the
Hat and immediately he saw him in the Street near
the House with a Woman who says her Name
is Mary Allen< no role >
who said She had Coned a Hat
and the hat which was Stolen was then brought to him
which he imediately to be the same Hat
And this Informant George Jones< no role >
for
himself Saith That he is the Son of the above named

the Elder
and at the time the Hat was
Stolen he & as in the back Shop at Work That
upon the Information being given to him by Dorrington
he followed the Woman out of the Shop who was asking
