The Information of Jacob Newton< no role > of Cable Street
St. George Middlesex Chandler taken this 19th July 1787

Who being on Oath says this night between the Hours of Ten and
Eleven the Prisoner present who says his Name is John Lewis< no role >
came to his house and asked for half a pound of Bacon and a
penny worth of Bread which he served him with and was paid for
the sameSays that four Shillings in Silver and about One
Shilling worth in half pence was loging on one of his Counters at the time
became inSays he missed the said mony all most Immediately
that he went to the sign of the Green man called him out and
charged with taking the same which he denged-Says he was
Searched and in his Pocket was found the Two Shillings and Nineteen
half pence produced and that he this Informant has not a Doubt
The said John Lewis< no role > Took his Money as aforesaid
