of Charles Street in the Parish of Saint Mary

the Parish of Saint James Westminster Pawnbroker [..]

John Crouch< no role > at Mr. Alden Bewick Street
Pawnbroker taker upon Oath before me this
21st day of July 1787

Capt Henry Ball< no role > being duly Sworn that about
the begining June last he lost out of a Closet in the front
Parlour a Ruby Ring Set round with Diamonds and he
had reason for Suspect that William grant< no role > had Stolen
the Said Ring

James Aldam< no role > being duly Sworn Saith that on the 8th
of June last William Grant< no role > the Prisoner Came to his
Shop in Berwick Street and Afforsd aDiamondGarnet Ring
Set round with Diamonds and asked half a Guineas upon
it as a Pledge this Information asked the Prisoner William
Grant
< no role > if it was his Ring who said it was his Wife's and
Said he was a housekeeper and lived at No: 1 new [..]
[..] this Informant Sent his Servant to See if
he lived them and if he did live there to give him
the half Guinea and the duplicate, this deponent further
Saith that an the 22d. of June following the Said Ring
was Sold to one Mr. Jacobs for Six Guineas and that
the Ring now Produced is the Same Ring that William
Grant
