said County, City and Liberty.
Who being severally sworn, upon their oaths say, and first
this Informant, William Luck< no role >
for himself saith he is
a Victualler
haps the Sign of Lord Clive's Head
, in Duke Street
Manchester Square
in the Parish of Saint Mary le bone
, that
upon Monday the 16th. Instant he had occasion about 12
o'Clock at Noon, to go to his drawer wherein he kept his
Cash, in the Fore Room, upon pair of Stairs in his said
House, that he then took thereout, five Guineas and a small
Draft upon a Banker and that he then left behind him
in the said Drawer, One Bank Note for the Sum of Twenty
Pounds, another Bank Note for the Sum of Ten Pounds and
about forty Guineas in Money, that he is certain he
then locked the said drawer, and kept the key thereof in
his pocket, and this Informant further sayeth that when
he and his wife went up to bed in the said Room about
12 o'Clock at Night, this Informant gave his wife some
more money for her to put by in the same drawn, that
when she attempted to unlock it, she could not get the Key
in, upon which this Informant examined the Lock and
found the same had been force'd and broke open and upon
looking into the drawer where the money had been deposited
found that the two Bank Notes above mentioned together
with the about forty Guineas in Cash were all taken
and covered away And this Informant further sayith
that upon the said Monday the 16th Instant about 2 o'Clock
in the Day the Person now Present who calls himself
