Middlesex to wit


The Information of Charles Cooper< no role >
taken before me this 13th. day of May 1784

Who being upon Oath saith that he well knows
John Lawson< no role > and William Cousins< no role > That on
Saturday the 28th. day of April last he this
Informant met the said Lawson and Cousins
in Wych Street that they went together to the
House of Samuel Martin< no role > the Sign of
in the said Street when they drant
some Beer that they then agreed to go or
the Highway for the purpose of Robbing and
about half an Hour Past five o'Clock left the
said House and went to Knightsbridge and Cousins or sued
with a Cutlass and said Lawson with a Pistol from Knightsbridge
they proceeded towards Acton and about half
a Mile on this side Acton They met a Hackney
Coach That said Cousins immediately seized
the Hours Reins and this Informant and
said Lawson went to the doors of the said Coach
in which was a Lady That said Cousins
then came to the door of said Coach and
both Cousins and Lawson got into the said
Coach to the Lady from whom they took are
Guinea and a half in Gold half a Crown piece
and one Shilling one Sixpence after which
said Lawson took the Cloak off her Shoulders
and demanded the Ring off her Finger that
the said Lady observed it was her wedding Ring
and begged him not to take it That they then
returned together to Town and arrived about
twelve o'Clock when said Lawson Pawned
the said Clock for eight Shillings at Mr. Cooper
