The Information and Examination of Thomas
Harwood
< no role > taken on Oath the Eighth day of May
1787 before me one of his Majestys Justices of
the Peace for the County of Middlesex

Who on his Oath Saith That he is a Servant to Daniel
Hands
< no role > of Old Street road in the Parish of Saint Luke in the
County of Middlesex Dustman and Rubbish Carter and hath
worked for him about four or five Months [..] past, And
that about, four or five weeks ago as near as he can recollect
as to the time, believes it was between four and five O'Clock
in the afternoon, he went from his Masters yard to the
White Hart Alehouse kept by Francis Trevett< no role > in Old
street aforesaid, to fetch his Master to come home and see
that his Cart was full which was then in the yard before
he shot it which is always Customary, He saw his Master
at the White Hart aforesaid who told him to go home and
shoot it, but his Master did not go home with him, he
went home shot the dust and went back to his Master
at the White Hart aforesaid to know where he should put
the Cart, he there saw his Master Who asked him to
drink some Beer, when he had drank, his Master bid
him to come with him and he followed him Master into the
Yard, at the White Hart aforesaid, And when they came
into the yard there were two Basketts with Coals in
them [..] the said Daniel Hands< no role > his
Master then [..] told this Informant to carry the
said Coals home and helped him with one of the
Basketts to his shoulder which he carried home into
a Back yard belonging to his Master him Master having
ordered him so to do, After having carried the first basket
home he went back again to the White Hart aforesaid
where his Master then was and his Master came out
of the house into the yard and Lifted the second [..]
baskett with Coals on this Informants shoulder
out of which last Baskett his master took [..] a large Coal
and said lett this before the Landlord and left the
same in the yard and this Informant carried the second
baskett home and [..] left it where he had delivered
the first, And further Saith that the two Baskets
which Contained the Coals that he took away
