The Examinations of Alexander
Wilson
< no role > William Rayner< no role >
John Ellison< no role > and William
Deal
< no role > charged with stealing
Linen taken before me this 16th.
day of April 1787 .

Who say and first the said Alexander
Wilson
< no role > says that he is a Shoemaker and
lives at the Cross Keys in Mary bone Lane
that having no Work he walked out to
Paddington where he met Rayner, Ellison
and Deal who agreed to Walk together
that he heard the cay of "Stop Thief" and
thought he night be taken when he and
Rayner ran away and Ellison and Deal
were taken And the said Rayner for himself
says he is a Foundation Digger and works
with his Father who lives at the Princess
Amelia's head in Oxford Road Says that he
was with Wilson at this time and on hearing
the cry of Stop Thief they ran away And the
said John Ellison< no role > for himself says that he
does not know either Wilson or Rayner, that
he was Walking with Deal and heard the cry
of "Stop Thief" when they ran away That as
he and Deal went towards Westburn Green
they met Wilson and Rayner That they all
went to the Spotted Dog at Westburn Green
and drank a Pot of Beer when they Separated
And the said William Deal< no role > for himself
Says that he is a Plaisterer is now out of Work
That he was walking up the Edges are Road
when
