says the Prisoner present who says her name is
Mary Smith< no role >
came into his Shop Situate as aforesaid this
afternoon about a Quarter of an hour before Six with another
woman unknown which Woman cheapened a pair of Leather
Pump which were tryed on her and fitted but did not buy on
Account of the Different he asking three shillings and she
bidding two and nine pence for the same that they both went out of
the Shop says he sent his Servant

to offer said Pumps for Two shillings and Ten pence who returned
saying they would not have them says in about five Minutes
after he missed the Leather Boots now produced his property which
were hanging on the Arm of a Chair in his shop a short time before
the said Woman came sat as no person but the Prisoner Mary Smith< no role >
and her Companion had been in the shop since he saw them before
himself and John Hangours< no role >
with in pursuit of them and soon
after [..] she said Servant brought

and the said Boots into his Shop

yours says this afternoon about the hour of Six Mary
Smith< no role >
and another Woman unknown came into his Masters Shop situate
as aforesaid says he fitted the Woman who was in Company with the
said Mary Smith< no role >
with a pair of Leather Pumps and that he told her the
price was Three Shillings that she bid two Shillings and nine pence
and went away and by his Masters order he went after them saying they might
have them for Two shillings and Ten pence which they refused to give
says in about four or five minutes after he returned him his Master missed
the Boots produced which were hanging on the Arm if a Chair on the
shop when the said Woman came in that they pursued them the going
one way his Master another That soon after he saw both the said
Woman going along Rosemary Lane
and Observing the Cloak of

stick out the stopped her who immediately let fall one
of the said Boot and the other he found under her Cloak and obbged her
to come to his said Masters with the same he picking up the other
boot which had full and brought it along with him which Boots
have not been out of Custody since
