taken before me One of
his Majesty's Justices of the Peace
for
the said County City & Liberty
Who being severally upon Oath say And first this
Informant John Baker< no role >
for himself saith that
about Eleven o Clock last Night he Picked up the
Woman now present who calls herself Elizabeth Cuthbert< no role >
and went to a Public House the Corner of Cockspur
Street
St. Martins
where he treated with a dram & Changed
a Guinea to Pay for it which she saw that he put a
half Guinea with the Silver he got in Change into his
Purse so that there then remained in the said Purse
three Guineas & an half in Gold & some Silver he
afterwards went with the said Woman to the Seven
Starrs Public House in Market Lane

who
they agreed to retire & went together into a Private
Room up Stairs in the said House says that no other
Persons than the said Woman were in or came in
the Room that while some familiarity's Passed
between them upon the Bed the felt her hand in
his Breeches Pocket and found that while she had
her Arms round his Neck she was taking Money
out of his Purse behind his head that he afterwards
said her put some thing into her Mouth which he to [..]
to be his Money for he heard it Single that he there saw
his Purse in her hand and changed her with having t [..]
his Money which she denied that the Purse she tha [..]
dropped upon the Bed which this Informant Exami [..]
when he found only One half Guinea & some Silver
remaining therein And upon his Oath saith that three
Guineas in Gold had been taken out of it by the said
Elizabeth Cuthbert< no role >
in the manner above described
this Informant further saith that upon his Charging
her with the said Felony she put the Candle out and
Endeavoured to make her Escape but he detained
her and called for a Light which was soon brought
