18th. day of September 1786
Who upon their Oaths
severally say and first the said
John Tapp< no role >
for
himself saith That about the hour of 9. oClock
last Night as he was walking in the public Streets
in Saint Giles's
he was followed by a Woman
(who says her Name is
Sarah Now< no role >
) and who Struck
him in the face and immediately Took from his
Neck an India Silk Handkerchief and Ran away
with the Same That she was immediately pursued
and taken into Custody and this found the Handkerchief
in her Bosom and that the Handkerchief now
produced is his property the same that

Stolen as aforesaid and is of the Value of Five
Shillings.

he was in Company with the said John Tapp< no role >
