taken before me this 21st.
day of September 1786
Who being upon Oath saith that as he was coming
thro' Russel Street
this morning during the time a Man was Standing
in and upon the Pillory, he was prevented going on by the Croud;
and as he was standing at the corner of Bridges Street
,
a person now present who calls himself John Jarvis< no role >
being
next him, he felt a person's hand in his right hand breeches
Pocket, in which was four Shillings a bad Six pence and Some
half penceThat on turning round, he observed said John
Jarvis< no role >
drawing his left hand from this Informants said pocket
and immediately go awayThat this Informant finding his
said Pocket turned out and his said Money gone, followed
said Jarvis, laid hold of him and charged him with the
RobberyAnd further saith that from the Circumstances before
stated he doth verily believe that said Jarvis stole his
said Money.
