On a Strong Suspicion of having Feloniously Stolen
a Bright Sorrel Gelding the property of Some Person at
present unknown And taken this 13th. Septr. 1786
Who saith that his Name is Robert Beals< no role >
was born at
Heddenham
in the County of Norfolk
is near thirty Years of
Age is by Trade a Weaver
that about Two Months ago he
worked with Mr. Saxby at Lingfield
in Surry
as a Weaver
that when he left Mr. Saxby he went to Harvest Work for Mr.
Laver at Standford
in Essex
for one Week hath left his Service about
five Weeks hath since been at Harvest Work at one
Mr Sewels at Cunningham
near Standford
for about [..]
[..] five Weeks and left his Service on Saturday last. That on
Monday last the 11th. day of September instant He bought the
Gelding found in his Possession at Harley Bush
near Epping
of
a Man who told this Examinant that his Name was Smith for
Ten Pounds Eleven Shillings that he took no Receipt for the
Money nor did he have the Horse Tolled that the next day
he went to Beggar Bush fair
in Order to Sell the said Gelding
that Mr John King< no role >
asked the price of it and this Examt. told
him fifteen Guineas.
