Taken the 24th: day of August 1786
Who upon their Oaths severally say And first the said
Sarah Isabella Armstrong for herself Saith That
between the hours of One and Six oClock on Tuesday
afternoon last a Stormont Ground Cotton or Callico
Gown was Stolen from her Bed Chamber in Garden
Court
Grays Inn
by some person or persons to her
unknown and that the Gown now produced is her
property, the same that was Stolen as aforesaid and is of
the Value of Fifteen Shillings
And this Informant James Hector< no role >
for
himself Saith That he is a Shop Keeper
in Broad
Street
Saint Giles's
, That about the hour of 6.oClock on
Tuesday Evening last a Man who says his Name is
John Monk< no role >
came into his Shop and offered to Sell the
above mentioned Gown for Twelve Shillings That he
Suspected the said Gown to have been Stolen and therefore he
Secured him and the property and took him before a Justice
