Majestys Justices of the peace
in and for the said County
Who being on his Oath Saith that about Twelve O Clock on saturday night
the Twenty second of Twenty second of July Instant he was at the Barley Mow
in New gravel

Shadwell
where he fell in Company with Mary Matthews< no role >
Prisoners now
here present. That he went home with her to her house in Elbow Lane
the
said Mary Matthews< no role >
then agreed with Informant to go to bed with him
for which Informant paid [..] her half a Crown. That Informant
then went into the Bed by himself expecting the prisoner Matthews would
have followed him but [..] did not. That Informant fell asleep
and when he [..] awoke about three O Clock in the Morning he found the
prisoner with her Clothes on lying on the Bed opposite to where Informant lay. who was
Stretching but her Arm over him and had hold of a Jacket in the pocket
of whichwasfive Guineas in peice of Convey were deposited when he went to Bed. That the
said Mary Matthews< no role >
on [..] seeing him awake dropped or let go the said Jacket
and Immediately went out of the Room. Further Saith that in about half
an hour after he Examined the Pocket in which the said Five Guine as was
when he went to Bed as aforesaid, but could not find the same or any Part thereof
By Reason whereof he this Informant upon his Oath as aforesaid Saith that
he verily believes and is almost positive the said Mary Matthews< no role >
Robbed him
of the said Five Guineas and feloniously took and Carried away the same
