The Information of John Thornton< no role > and Thomas
Cropp< no role > and John ther [..] mount taken on Oath before me John Staples< no role > Esqr one
of his Majesty's Justices of the peace in and for
the said County this 16th day of April 1785

Who being on their Oaths Say and first the said
John Thornton< no role > . for himself saith that last Night
about the Hour of Eleven and Alarm was made
that the Callies Grounds of His Masters Messrs
Richd Adams< no role > and Samuel Lay< no role > bying at Old Ford
in the said County were Robbed on which he this
Informant together with the said Richd Adams< no role >
the other Informant Thomas Cropp< no role > and others went in
pursuit of the Offenders until between the House
of two and three this Morning when being
nearin white post Lane near and Ford the
said Richard Adams< no role > hearing a Noise Ordered them
to be SilentwhenSaith that presently after
he san the two persons now present who say
their Names are Abraham Gorden< no role > and Thomas
Goldfinch< no role > come over a Stile (near to the place
where this Informant and the other) Stood
with Bundles on their HeadswhSaith that
on [..] ing this Informant and the said other
pers [..] the [..] abraham Gorden< no role > and
Thomas Goldfn [..] threw down their
Bune [..] and ran away further Saith
that at the same time he Saw the other
Person now present who says his Name is Samuel Roberts< no role > on the other side
of the said Still with a Bundle on his
Head which he also at fall and ran off
