The Several Informations of Mary Smith< no role > of No. 1 Cable
Street in the Parish of Saint Mary White Chapel Widow . George
David
< no role > of No. 105 Rosemary Lane in the Parish aforesaid Slop Seller
William Clarke< no role > man the Victualling Office in the Parish of Saint
Botolph without Newgate [..] and Thomas Cook< no role > of the Parish of
Saint Paul Shadwell Waterman all in the County aforesaid
Taken this 19th. day of March 1785 before me one of his
Majestys Justices of the peace in and for the sand County

Who being on their Oaths severally say and first the said Mary
Smith
< no role > for herself saith that about the latter End of February last on the
beginning of March Inst. she bought a pair of blue Cloath breeches now produced
of the Prisoner Peter Oberg< no role > now present who at the same time Offered this
Informant a Maroon Coloured Cloath Waistcoat for Sale but which she did not
then purchase as said Oberg was to have brought Informant the Coat and
Waistcoat belonging to it, but before that [..] was done the prisoner was
apprehended and further this Informant Saith not, And this Informant
George Davie< no role > for himself Saith, that about the latter End of the last Month or
the beginning of the present he purchased. One Cloath Coat One Silk Waistcoat
and One pair of Cloath Breeches now produced, by him for one pound one shilling of the Prisoner
Peter Oberg< no role > who at the time of selling the same told Informant he had orders from
a Ship Mate of his to dispose of the same, and further Saith not. And this
Ir [..] William Clark< no role > for himself saith that in the seventh day of
March Instant he purchased an old Cloath Coat One Cloath Jackett and one
Linen Shirt of the Prisoner Peter Oberg< no role > for nine Shillings and Six pence. That
the same day he sold the Coat but that the Cloath Jacket and Linen Shirt
arenow produced are the same he purchased of the said Peter Oberg< no role > on the day &
year last mentioned, And further saith not. And the said Thomas Cole< no role > for
himself Saith that on the Eighth day of March Instant the prisoner Peter Oberg< no role > .
was delivered to him by Mr Knox Beadle of Saint George charged with having
committed a Robbery. That on the prisoners being Challenged by Mr. Anderson
touching the said Robbery and that he the prisoner had stolen a Quantity of Meaning
Apparel out of the said Mr. Andersons House in Old Gravel Lane Saint George
Middlesex Victualler as also a Silver Watch and a pair of Silver Buckles the
prisoner owned to his having take the wearing Apparel and where he had
Sold a Part thereof but denied any knowledge either of the Watch or Buckles. And this
Informant further Saith that perceiving the Prisoner Oberg to walk very Awkward
he Insisting on searching him and on such Search found the Watch now produced tyed
to the Tent of his Shirt between his legs which he Cut. and that the piece of Shirt
now produced is part of the Shirt said Oberg had on and which the said Watch was
wrapped up in.
