Saith that on Monday the 28th. day of March 1785
between five and Six oClock in the Evening this deponent in going
from St. James
to Chelsea
a Manwas met at Pimlico
by a great
Mob with a Bullock led by a Rope, A Man Crossed the Road and
Immediately Snatched him Silver Watch with a Steel Chain out of this Deponents fob, who
Immediately laid hold of him, but could not hold him in a few
Minutes he laid hold of him Again but was Immediately knocked
down by a Person wh [..] lidged him to Quit his hold, and was
Afterwards boat by numbers of Persons whom this deponent doth not
know

between five and Six o'Clock in the Evening he heard a great
noise near his house at Pimlico went out and saw Mr. John Newins< no role >
Rising from the Ground and the Prisoner William Thorley< no role >
Runing
from him, Newins Informed this deponent he was Robed of
his Watch and Violently boat, this deponent with Newins and
others Persons went in Pursuit of the Prisoner and others concerned in the Robbery and
got up with them on Westminster Bridge
on the Surry Side
near Astleys this deponent saw the Prisoner Thorley Snatch
at a Gentlemans Watch and pull the Chair now Produced
from his fob and throw it Away. Immediately this deponent
Pursued and took him and found him to be the same Man
that run Away from Newins
