For Felony

That by his Majesty's order made in Counsil the 7a. Febry last and Published in the London Gazette
the 8ted. of same Month Deft. was Charged with having been Guilty on the 8ted. Novr. last of being Assembled (with
others) on Board a Boat belonging to a Cutter called the Long Splice then lying on the Shore within the Limits of the Port
of Shoreham within the County of Sussex and of Aiding and Assisting in Running & Landing certain Uncustomed Goods, to wit,
Brandy Geneva & Tea at a place near Long Bam in the said County and of being Armed with Fire Arm said other
Offensive Weapons and being Armed forcibly and Violently Hindred obstructed Assaulted Opposed and Resisted
Thomas Tilston< no role > then being on Board of a Boat belonging to the Enter Prize Cutter in the Service of the Customs and
then & there being one of the officers of the Customs in the Execution of his Duty And thereby Presented the said Thos
Tilston
< no role > from making Seizuce of the said Boat & Goodswas required to Surrender himself within Forty days
after the Publication of said order

The Deft. accordingly Sworn deced himself into the Custody of the Keeper of his Majesty's Goal for the said
County of Sussex 15 days before the last Assizes in order to take his Trial fatter said offence but it appearing to the Court
to the said Assizes that the Prosecution against Deft. was Intended to be pre [..] d at next session of Goal delivering
of Newgate to be held at Justice Hall in the Old Bailey and not at the said Assizes the Deft. was bund in
Recognizance with Two Sureties his Appearence at the said Session to Answer for said offence

The Deft is now in Town ready to Surrender, but the Solr. of the Customs being Satisfied of his Innocence
will Consent that he and the Recognizance Entred into for his Appearence at the Old Bailey Sessions May
be Discharged, and will Instruct Counsil Consent

Therefore Please to Move the Court that Defendant and his Recognizance
may be Discharged
