THE Information of William Watkins< no role > [..] at No. 3 upper Well
Alley in the Parish of Saint John of Wapping in the said County
Taylor
Taken this 17 Day of December 1784 before me One
of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the said County

Who being upon Oath saith that about Eight of the Clock in the Evening of
Thursday the Ninth day of December Inst he was at the house
of Mr. Isaac Troughet< no role > of Wapping Wall Shadwell Tay [..]
and Slopseller with whom he works at which time one
John Johnson< no role > (a prisoner now here present) and another
man who has Escaped came into his Masters Shop and
during the time Informant was shewing the prisoner
Johnson some Silk Handkerchiefs, he snatched some
of them off the Counter. with which he ran out of the
Shop with great precipitation. but being Closely pr [..]
by Informant he was stopt (having never burn out of
her sight) and secured, And this Informant further
Saith. thatthatNine Silk Handkerchiefs now produced
and which were dropped on the Ground immediately before
the said Johnson was Stopped & Secured are the
Handkerchiefs so feloniously taken and Carried away
as aforesaid. and are the property of the said Isaac
Troughet
