home and soon after she heard the Child was found, and she then went
and saw the Child laying in a Chair in the, Maids Room, Deponent
said to the Woman, How could You say and put your Soul to it that
you was not with Child and I see the Child now here, to which
she replied I was not then with Child when I swore I was not. the
woman said I did not Kill the Child it was Still Born. Deponent
is or opinion the Child was not fairly done by but Deponent was
very much frightened at the time.

o' Clock in the Morning Mr. Sawyer's Son in Law cameand knockedto
Deponents Chamber Door and called out the Maid was not well, Deponent
came down and found the Maid in the Passage , and said Betty what's the
matter with You, she replied she had a sad pain in her Stomach, Deponent
desired her to go up Stairs, and she would go with her, and in the landing
place of the Stairs the Maid stopped and sat down on the Stairs and said
she should be better presently, and in a little time she was better and went
up into her own Room, and Deponent with her, and the Maid sat down
on the Bed, and Deponent asked her if she was not in Labour, she said
How could You think so, You know Ma'am I have been of this size a
great while, she then desired Deponent to let her have something warm
which Deponent did and brought it to her, she drank it and said it
did her good Some time after Deponent went up again, and then saw
the Child in a white Apron on the side of the Bedstead, Deponent
asked her why she did not own she was with Child she said she was
ashamedDeponent and the Midwife and another Woman that was
then in the Room discoursed together and were of opinion that
nothing had been done to the Child but what might have been in
consequence of the Woman's delivering herself, the Maid said the
Child never cryedDeponent says she saw in the Maid's [..] Draw [..]
some few Child Bed Linen such as a Shirt and two or three Caps, but
