Taken the 7th. Day of July
1784.
The said John Davis< no role >
upon his Oath saith That he
lives in Red Lion Street Holborn
and is by business a
painter That about the hour of 11. oClock last night
he received Information from his Daughter That his
Daughter
was Robbed and that upon Examination he found
That a Draw was burst open in a double Chest of
Draws which were in the three pair of Stairs Room
and severally Articles of wearing Apparell were Stolen
away That having cause to Suspect some persons
Lodgers in the next House (being a Public House) might
be considered in such Felony he this Informant got
assistance and went to search the said House when
the several things now produced (Vizt.) a Callice Apron
a Towell were found under the Bed of Lodging Room
of our Nathaniel Sucas< no role >
and the other Things (Vizt.)
One Muslin Shawl & Muslin A prons 9 Muslin
Handkerchiefs 3 Muslins Caps were found & in an adjoining
Room lying on a Bed, the Bed being Turned [..] them
in order to Conceal the same And this Informant
May Davis for herself Saith That she was also
with the said John Davis< no role >
at the time the above search
was made and that the above things are her property
and were Stolen in manner abovementioned from [..]
out of a Draw in her Bed Room.
