The Information of William Backhouse< no role > Marind
Taken before us two of His Majesty's Justices of
the Peace in and for the said County the
13th day of March 1784

Who being on his Oath Saith that he Lodges at the House of
Thomas Petch< no role > of Field Gate White Chapel That between
the House of Seven and Eight o'Clock of Wednesday
Evening the 10th day of March Inst. he went from thence
to the Black Horse it Public House near Adjoining that
Presently afterwards Mrs. Petchor(the Woman who goes
forandthe Wife of the said Thomas Petch< no role > ) sent for him
this Informant and desired him to Walk with he
to her Mothers, That he Accordingly went to
the House of the Said Thomas Petch< no role > , That he
heard him the said Thomas Petch< no role > tell the two
Servant Maids that they might goasout and
See one of their Mothers, Saith that the SaidMrs. Petch
Woman who goes by the name of Mrs Petch Objected and said they might as well Stay
[..] at home, and take care of the House but Petch
replied and said he thought they would
not be wanted that they might go and Stay
until half an Hour after Ten o'Clock
that they accordingly went out and
Immediately after them the Said Thomas
Petch
< no role > and the Said Woman who Passes for his Wife
and him this Informantallalso went out together
That he the Said Thomas Petch< no role > Locked
the Street Door after him and put the Key
in his PocketThat they all three went
together to Mrs. Petchs Mothers in Leman Street
Goodmans Fields and there Drank Tea
and Spent the EveningthereThat the
Said Thomas Petch< no role > Stopped in Leman Street
until about a Quarter after Nine o'Clock
